Lead cross-government strategic policy and projects to strengthen the state's disaster resilience
Enhance decision-making and investments, including by delivering grant programs
Future-proof volunteering by better attracting, retaining and supporting volunteers
Represent our community at national forums to build a stronger emergency management system

Provide a reliable and safe ICT environment that facilitates the emergency services sector
Equip those on the frontline with WHS support and deliver efficient, compassionate injury management
Deliver expert HR and workforce services, guiding the sector across the employee lifecycle
Enable land acquisitions and capital projects to support fit-for-purpose facilities

Monitor sector performance and manage compliance structures to ensure public accountability
Provide rigorous financial management, procurement advice, and transparent budget frameworks
Oversee risk mitigation frameworks, internal audits, and protective security services
Deliver independent research and evaluations to drive continuous sector improvement

Coordinate multi-agency state emergency preparedness, state level planning, and high-level training
Maintain operational readiness for state control facilities and primary communication networks
Deliver real-time warnings, community engagement campaigns, and hazard education initiatives
Optimize multi-agency resource allocation and data mapping during major disaster responses

SAFECOM works collaboratively with a broad range of community and government stakeholders, as well as its emergency service sector partners: the SA Country Fire Service, the SA Metropolitan Fire Service, and the SA State Emergency Service.
