Information Management Update

Back in March all sector staff were invited to get their creative juices flowing and come up with a catchy name for the sector wide records management system. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to submit an entry - over 45 entries were received and the Records Management steering committee certainly found it tough deciding the winner.

Congratulations to Colin Goodrich from the SES for winning the competition with the name ASSIST which is an acronym for Access Share Store Information Systems Tool. This name sums up exactly what the records management system tool will do so thank you Colin!

The records management project is running to schedule with all MFS and SAFECOM staff having now been trained in the use of ASSIST with the CFS due to begin their training sessions later this month and the SES in October.

All staff who have completed the training are strongly encouraged to start using ASSIST and migrating content as soon as possible. Later this year the G Drive will be restricted to read only access, meaning that staff will only be able to create and save new documents using ASSIST.

Any questions should be directed to the ASSIST team (Donna De Nardi, Teresa Stadler, Gary Head and Kelli Mitchell) by emailing SAFECOM:Records or alternatively by calling 8204 1395 or 0438 500 262.
