Ray Sedunary retires after 37 years of outstanding service |

Assistant Chief Officer Ray Sedunary has retired from the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service after 37 years of distinguished service. Commander Sedunary joined the MFS in September 1973 as a firefighter, progressing through the ranks to the position of Assistant Chief Officer after serving in several metropolitan stations and various departments. He has performed in an exemplary manner and has been instrumental in the development and refinement of operational procedures and initiatives. Whilst serving as a Command Manager and then Commander Metropolitan Operations, he successfully improved the image and professional standing of the MFS, not only internally but also with external stakeholders and the community. Mr Sedunary was an accomplished firefighter, an excellent officer and leader of high quality. He set very high standards for every task undertaken and achieved these standards in a most professional manner. Raymond Lawrence Sedunary retired on April 27. Awards
